Robert Petersen is a local specialist and speaker on reverse mortgages. Over the last 12 years he has assisted hundreds of homeowners throughout the greater Bay Area enhance their lives by helping them select the appropriate reverse mortgage for their particular needs. Robert is patient, professional and practices a no-pressure, educational approach. His extensive experience enables him to help his clients find the right solution.
Robert holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Finance, Banking, and Real Estate from San Francisco State University and is licensed by the California Department of Real Estate. He became a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) in 2004 to learn more about the challenges and needs of older Californians. Prior to joining HighTechLending, he was the executive vice president and co-owner of Sequoia Reverse Mortgage, headquartered in the North Bay. He managed a diverse team of loan officers and was directly involved in all aspects of reverse mortgage lending including processing and underwriting. Robert was also one of the top 100 originators in the country.
Robert is a 4th generation Bay Area resident and currently owns and resides in the Oakland home his great-grandfather built in 1912. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hikes with his two dogs, gardening, backcountry camping, climbing, mountain biking, and travel.
